Through the STEM Leaders Academy, principals and other administrators can learn from the educators behind some of the most innovative and effective schools in Ohio and Tennessee. This free training is available thanks to support from the Ohio Department of Education, Ohio STEM Learning Network and Battelle.
We’re now accepting applications from two-person teams to join the 2014 class of STEM leaders. Teams must consist of:
We’re giving additional consideration to teams from schools that meet any of the following criteria: The school has endorsed STEM as a strategy or been identified by the state as persistently-lowest achieving (PLA) or received School Improvement Grant (SIG) funds. However, all interested teams should complete this brief application form. Applications are due by March 3, 2014.
This year’s workshop Cohort 2 topics include efficient school operations, effective instructional practices, how to engage parents, and strategies for continuous improvement.
Through a pair of intense two-day overview trainings and three quarterly sessions, these teams will build strategies and skills to help students in their schools do more.
The initial overview trainings are scheduled for May 1-2, 2014 and June 24-25, 2014. Follow-up sessions will be scheduled once the members of the class have been selected.
