Media Literacy for teachers

November 7 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

What is Media Literacy and Why do I need to Teach it in my Classroom? Great Question, huh? Media Literacy should be taught by all teachers across the curriculum and Western Reserve PBS hopes to provide the tools you need to battle today’s “Fake News” climate. Our Media Literacy session will give you the tools and know-how of becoming media literate. Participants will practice leading a media questioning, obtain lesson ideas to implement, and have time to plan a media reading with key questions to use with their class. We will explore all sorts of media from social media to news to shirts to music and we will practice questioning it all without spilling out our feelings on the topic.
