eTech Ohio
eTech Ohio is a state agency with the mission, “To advance education and accelerate the learning of Ohioans through technology.” eTech Ohio develops programs and uses best practices to provide educational technology to learning organizations across Ohio. Additionally, eTech Ohio manages a network that delivers public television, public radio programming, radio reading services and professional development materials.  Learn more

Ohio Academy of Science
The Ohio Academy of Science works “to foster curiosity, discovery, and innovation and unite all who value education, science, engineering, technology, or their applications for the benefit of society.” The organization hosts State Science Day and supports Young Buckeye STEM Scholars Program. Newly created by H.B. 119, the Young Buckeye STEM Scholars program is designed as an out-of-school and summer education model that provides 5th and 6th grade students with a strong science and mathematics background. H.B. 119 provided $350,000 in FY 08 and 09 for the Young Buckeye STEM Scholars Program. Learn more

Ohio Board of Regents
The Ohio Board of Regents is a nine-member advisory board to the Chancellor. The PCL is lodged within the Ohio Board of Regents, but also reports to the Governor’s Office. H.B. 119 allocated more than $163 million to the Regents, primarily for the Choose Ohio First Scholarship and the Ohio Research Scholars program. Learn more

Ohio Business Alliance for Higher Education and the Economy 
The Ohio Business Alliance for Higher Education and the Economy (BAHEE), an affiliate of the Ohio Business Roundtable (BRT), helps attract, cultivate, train and produce the next generation of talent to create tomorrow's innovations and grow the state's economy. BAHEE’s board, consisting of 12 CEOs from around the State of Ohio, has adopted the goal of doubling the number of STEM baccalaureate degrees granted by Ohio’s colleges and universities by 2015. Ohio Department of Development (ODOD)
A cabinet-level agency, ODOD works with communities and businesses to improve the profits and prosperity of Ohio’s citizens. ODOD oversees Ohio’s Third Frontier Project, which is the state’s ten-year, $1.6 billion commitment to expand high-tech research capabilities and promote innovation and company formation.

Ohio Department of Education (ODE)
ODE is Ohio’s state education agency. It provides services ranging from teacher professional development, school improvement support and other student-focused resources for the PreK-12 classroom. H.B. 119 allocated more than $42 million to ODE for FY 08 and 09 for STEM-related education initiatives. Learn more

Ohio Mathematics and Science Coalition (OMSC)
An advocacy group comprised of individuals from education, business, and public sectors, OMSC works toward the goal of revitalizing and improving STEM education from preschool to beyond graduate school. H.B. 119 allocated more than $100,000 in FY 08 and 09 to support the work of the Ohio Mathematics and Science Coalition. Learn more

Ohio Partnership for Continued Learning (PCL)
Chaired by Governor Strickland’s Office, the PCL is Ohio’s state-level P-16 education council. Its vision: “Ohio will have a continuous, lifelong learning system that will prepare all Ohioans for success in the 21st century global economy.” The PCL, through its STEM Subcommittee, is charged with granting awards for H.B. 119 funding to create STEM schools ($ 3million in FY 08 and 09) and K-8 STEM Programs of Excellence ($3.3 million in FY 08 and 09). Ohio Public-Private Collaborative Commission
The Ohio Public-Private Collaborative Commission, a directive of Governor Strickland, was charged with making policy and program recommendations that promote greater student success. In August 2008, the commission released a report, Supporting Student Success: A New Learning Day in Ohio, where they outlined four recommended action priorities. Learn more

Ohio Resource Center for Mathematics, Science, and Reading (ORC)
The ORC promotes standards-based best practices in mathematics, science, and reading for Ohio schools and universities. On its website, you can find peer-reviewed, high-quality classroom and learning resources for mathematics, science and reading. H.B. 119 allocated more than $1 million in FY 08 and 09 to support the work of the Ohio Resource Center. Learn more

Ralph Regula School of Computational ScienceRalph Regula School of Computational Science
The Ralph Regula School of Computational Science is a program initiated by the Ohio Supercomputer Center that works with Ohio colleges and universities, Project Lead the Way, industries, and others to promote computational science as an essential component of K-20 STEM education. Programs developed to date include a minor program with 11 colleges participating; an associate's program with several community colleges involved; a 2008 STEM academy sponsored by the Ohio Board of Regents; K-12 teacher training and summer programs; and industry certificates. All programs are designed to teach computational modeling and simulation skills to the current and future workforce in Ohio. Learn more

University System of Ohio (USO)
The USO is a network of Ohio’s public colleges and universities and includes 13 universities with 24 branch campuses, a public medical school, and 23 two-year technical and community colleges working in a collaborative, cooperative environment across the state. Its mission: “To provide affordable, high quality education opportunities for all Ohioans…” Learn more
