STEMTASTIC! Design Thinking in Your Classroom

June 22, 2015 @ 9:00 am - June 24, 2015 @ 3:00 pm

Are you curious about the use of the Fab Lab or the Maker Movement in education? Interested in collaborating with like-minded educators as they learn how to implement design thinking strategies? Do you like fun? This workshop is your chance to get started with in-person training and mentoring surrounding the use of the Fab Lab and Design Thinking. We’ll dig into using the tools, both digital and traditional, and practice using the design thinking theory to make these experiences meaningful in the classroom.  Each teacher will leave with a unit of study that they will be able to implement in their classroom during the 2015-16 school year.  This workshop is for beginners to using the MIT FabLab and is open to all content areas grades 6-12.

Presenters:

National Trainers for Design Thinking and Fab Lab:  Andrea Lane (TIES MIT Fab Lab Consultant), Kelly Zona (TIES STEM Consultant), Caroline McEnnis (TIES Director of Engineering and MIT Fab Lab)

OSLN Principal in Residence:  Marcy Raymond
