It’s never too early to start thinking about what you want to be when you grow up. Chances are you want to achieve both professional and personal success and land a job, better yet, a career that you love. But getting a job – or at least a job that lets you make a strong contribution – isn’t as easy as it was when your parents graduated from high school. And now it’s a global matter.

STEM is an approach to education that transforms what you might consider to be a “traditional” class setting through personalized projects and coursework tied to college or a local business. Projects and coursework are designed to give you the skills to compete in the 21st century economy. STEM ensures that you are ready to thrive at college or the workplace.

How does this happen? Through the lens of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEM lets you actively engage in group learning environments where you can solve problems, be inventive, develop solutions to problems, and other activities that are sure to stretch you. This is done with the goal of helping you prepare for your future.

The Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) is designed to connect, share, and build upon STEM-education initiatives across Ohio, creating a borderless education network. And that means students like you can share your thoughts on STEM, talk with other students around the state, and learn more about how STEM skills can prepare you for your future.

Below are some helpful resources for student engagement. For additional assistance please contact us online using the Contact Form, by email to OSLN@battelle.org, or by phone at 1-800-201-2011.
