Policy Makers
Positioning Ohio to be globally competitive requires an intense and strategic focus on innovative approaches to education that help us nurture and grow our own talent. It is critical that Ohio prepare skilled, knowledgeable citizens who are ready to compete, ready to succeed in college and the workplace, and ready to thrive as lifelong learners in a “flat” world where competition for jobs, investment and opportunity is global – and fierce.
STEM is an innovative approach to education. Its goal is to prepare students who are innovators, inventors, critical thinkers, collaborators and problem-solvers – students who are ready to succeed in college, career and life. Rigorous STEM education coupled with the partnership of PreK-12 educators, higher education and business partners ensures that Ohio is well positioned to be competitive in a globalized economy.
The Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) is designed to connect, share, and build upon STEM-education initiatives across Ohio, creating a borderless education network. And that means policymakers like you can engage in the regional, state and national STEM discussion, share your voice and learn first-hand what your constituents have to say about STEM.
